Should You Lift During The Season?
Lifting during the football season enhances players overall strength and physical resilience, which are crucial for withstanding the physical demands of the game. Increased muscle mass and strength contribute to better performance in both offensive and defensive play, allowing players to push through tackles and maintain stability under pressure.
In addition to physical benefits, strength training helps to prevent injuries by improving muscle balance and joint stability. By focusing on core, leg, and upper strength, players can reduce their risk of strains, sprains, and other common football injuries, leading to a healthier and more reliable season.
On top of these other benefits, maintaining a lifting regimen during the season can also support mental toughness and discipline. The structured nature of lifting programs foster a strong work ethic and perseverance, qualities that are transferable to on-field performance and overall team cohesion.
Schedule & Cost
Our "In Season Strength Program" will run every Tuesday & Saturday night from September 7th to November 5th. Athletes will be separated in two time slots. (7:15pm - 8:30pm & 8:35pm - 9:50pm).
The cost of this program is $200. A $50 discount will be automatically applied for players that attend JCS High School as well as current and past players from the Calgary Chiefs.
